This is very exciting...

The latest details about the rumored Black Mirror film have been seemingly leaked online, after it was first discovered last week.

The film, which is tentatively titled Bandersnatch, was unearthed after one eagle-eyed fan noticed a since-deleted listing for it on Netflix. According to reports, it will follow the previously rumoured follow-your-own adventure formula, allowing viewers to control events via the power of their remote control.

However, we’ve now been given our biggest slice of information on the project via a listing from the Korean Media Rating Board. It seemingly reveals that Dunkirk star Fionn Whitehead will take the lead role, while David Slade is directing the project.

Whitehead’s involvement comes after a fan discovered the below screenshot of the supposed project, which featured the actor.

Slade’s involvement would also make sense, as he previously directed ‘Metalhead’, the sinister fifth episode of the show’s fourth series, starring Maxine Peake.

He’s also got an accomplished background of TV on his side too, having previously directed episodes of Breaking Bad and Neil Gaiman’s American Gods.

The synopsis, which has been translated from Korean, also provides an idea of what to expect. It states: “A young programmer makes a fantasy novel into a game. Soon, reality and virtual world are mixed and start to create confusion”.

This comes after Charlie Brooker told NME that a Black Mirror movie was “unlikely.”

We would need a really good idea to do a movie… because we feel like they’re little movies anyway. So unless we had an idea that needed 300 million dollars, I think we’re incredibly lucky to be doing what we’re doing,”Brooker told NME.

Bandersnatch is expected to arrive on December 28.
