Otherwise known as Erik & Fiedel, the duo is comprised of Erik Wiegand (aka Errorsmith) and Fiedel, who got together as MMM in the mid-'90s and made their recording debut with the self-released MMM 1 EP in 1996. Their second EP, MMM 2 (aka Donna), was released in 1997 and spawned the club favorite "Donna," a disco-inflected track that samples Donna Summer. In the wake of this success, MMM 1 was remastered and re-released in 2000 (the original edition known as the "Blue Stamp" version, the re-release as the "Black Stamp" version). By this point, Wiegand and Fiedel had gone their separate ways. Wiegand made his solo production debut as Errorsmith in 2000 and teamed up with Frank Timm (aka Soundhack) a couple years later to found Smith n Hack, whose remix work notably includes Ricardo Villalobos' "Easy Lee" (2004) and Herbert's "Moving Like a Train" (2006). Meanwhile, Fiedel pursued a DJ career and was a longtime resident at the Berlin club Berghain. Wiegand and Fiedel eventually reunited as MMM in the late 2000s and released the third MMM EP, 10th Anniversary (2008), whose B-side features production work by Soundhack. In subsequent years, the duo toured and released additional production output, including a fourth EP, Nous Sommes MMM (2010). ~ Jason Birchmeier
